Final Class
Hello, all,
This Saturday (4/23) is the final class of the semester. Here are things you need to be aware of:

• Essay 3 (Character Analysis) is due Saturday.
  
• We will discuss a couple of the stories from Unit 6 first on Saturday -- "The Lost Explorer" and "The Big Hunger" probably.
  The Final In-Class Essay will be given starting at 1:45pm. If you cannot be there at that time, you will have to make arrangements to come during the week to take it. I will not be giving the exam earlier than 1:45pm.
  
• The Final In-Class Essay will be based upon the final Unit 6 stories. You can find a study guide on my website -- Unit 6 Study Guide
  
• The Re/I-search paper is due next week. I will accept submissions until Tues. 4/26. Don't forget to submit a copy to Turnitin.com and submit a copy to me (e-copy is preferred).
  
• I will accept any missing essays on Sat. Responses to Unit 6 may be submitted as make-ups for missing responses. I will accept re-writes of essays on Sat. -- make sure to include original graded. I highly suggest you make essay re-writes a low priority, unless you received a D or F on the original essay.

Final Month
Believe it or not, we only have a few classes left! There is a lot to do in these final few weeks. Here is the schedule of assignments:
4/9 -- Response to one of the plays in Unit 5, "Oleanna" or "Man in a Case"
4/9 -- Annotated Bibliography for Re/I-Search paper
4/16 -- Drafts of Re/I-Search paper
4/23 -- Final Essay 3
4/23 -- Final Re/I-Search paper
4/23 -- Final In-Class Essay

After completing Unit 4 (probably 4/9), we will begin with Unit 5 and the plays on 4/9. The final weeks, we will be discussing as many of the stories in Unit 6 as possible.

Schedule and Assignments
I am pleased that so many of you have been able to submit your first essay! Thank you. We should be continuing Unit 3 this Saturday (3/19) with "Solomon's Big Day" and hopefully "The Glass Tower." The last hour of class, we will have the mid-term -- an in-class essay. Plan on being there!

I want to begin Unit 4 when we return from break. To do that, I would like a response to one of the four stories in that unit. Please submit a response by Monday, 3/21, if possible.
